I visited Haathi Gaon in 2016. This is India's first Elephant Village and I was really excited to see what exactly that means. I picked up the camcorder for the first time given by my HOD to let me experiment with Documentaries. This seemed like an interesting subject. I did not have any opinions on Animal Captivity back then and I shot interviews with the Mahauts telling me all about how they take care of the elephant. How it is a home for them. I believe they are taken care off better in the Haathi Gaon than in the other setups that I saw, with 20 elephants in the same room. I do believe that Mahauts really love their giant friends and take care of them like their own children, I saw that in real. But since 5 years I couldn't edit this video, one, because ofcourse it's shot badly, second I couldn't advocate animal captivity. To be honest I don't feel for Animal Causes passionately but still I do not want to in any way advocate elephant rides through this video. It's just to give you a glimpse of what an Elephant Village looks like, the man made pond, the elephants having fun, getting on with their day and the bond that the Mahaut and the Elephant share #elephants #animals #documentary #haathi #india #jaipur
